Tilde Rödland

Soprano, performing Jackie

Tilde Rödland is a lyric soprano trained at the Department of Opera at Stockholm University of the Arts. She was born and raised on Gotland among sheep, cats, chickens and horses. Music and acting have been central to her life from an early age through choir, orchestra, musical theatre, dance and drama.

During her studies, Tilde developed a particular interest in interdisciplinary expression and the meeting points between opera, performance and alternative stage spaces. She explores how opera can create new forms of encounter with audiences, and has appeared in performance works in settings including a fortress on Enholmen off Gotland, a nuclear reactor, and the Nordic Museum, where she performed a zombie interpretation of Jenny Lind.

Her roles as a student included Gilda in Rigoletto, Eurydice in Orfeo ed Euridice, the title role in Cendrillon, and Miss Pinkerton in The Old Maid and the Thief. At Norrlandsoperan, she completed a placement in Miloš Vacek's opera The Emperor's New Clothes and later appeared professionally in John Adams's The Death of Klinghoffer.

More recently, Tilde has sung in the chorus of Parsifal in Basel, appeared as soprano soloist in Handel's Messiah, and performed in Carmina Burana in Palermo.

Tilde is currently based in Leipzig, where she studies with Kammersängerin Regina Werner Dietrich and continues to develop her work at the intersection of opera and performance.
