Erik Annerborn

Erik Annerborn is a Stockholm-based costume designer and artistic director.

Annerborn's design process is shaped by his broad background in contemporary art and by his earlier work as a performance artist and musician. Acutely aware of the performative aspect of every stage of the process, he weaves elements of relational aesthetics, surrealist play and contemporary occult literature into the finished work.

The social and the sensory are central to his work as a costume designer. For him, a successful work unites symbolic interpretation with a more abstract and physical experience to create an impression that is both striking and multifaceted.

In recent years, Annerborn has created work for venues and festivals including MDT, The Yard, Roskilde Festival, Dansehallerne and Inkonst. His collaborators include Malik Nashad Sharpe, Norrdans, Escarleth Romo Pozo and Ofelia Jarl Ortega.
